HDR Samples from St. Paul's Cathedral

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to shoot at the Cathedral of St. Paul.

This outstanding example of Beaux Arts architecture will be the site of the workshop, "Shooting HDR for Architectural and Landscape Photography, February 4th, from 6-9 p.m. The church offers unlimited opportunities to shoot on a grand scale and has superb options for detail photography.

Co-sponsored by the Twin Cities Photography and Photoshop Group ( www.tcphotogroup), the workshop has 2 remaining spots open. Contact me if you have any questions.

With the extraordinary range of exposure values from the brightest to the darkest, this is a haven for shooting High Dynamic Range images. Be sure to click on each image to see the extraordinary detail.

The first image was created from three Auto Exposure Bracketed (AEB) shots, 2 stops apart, and processed using Photomatix Pro® followed by some tweaking in both Photoshop® and Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0®

This view of the Cathedral was processed as an HDR image using Photomatix Pro's® Grunge pre-set. Saturation was lowered to 56 and Luminance was set to +4.0.

This image was HDR processed from 5 images using a pre-set called Painterly, modified, and tweaked in Photoshop®.

This image was reprocessed as an HDR using pre-set called Grunge, modified, and processed through Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0® using Glamour Glow.
