This was a 3 light set-up. The Main was to the left of the subject, a reflector added fill on the right side, a kicker separation light added light from the right corner, and a hair light also acted as a separator.
This image was shot with a Main up and to the left of the subject and a reflector on the right side of the face to create a nearly 1:1 ratio (even stops of light). A background light acted as a separation light adding more highlight to the background.
This image was created with one light set at a 90 degree angle relative to the camera. This is also defined as an 8:1 ratio image because there are 4 stops of light difference from one side of the face to the other. Note the slight Rembrandt effect on the right cheek.
