Professional Retouching: Before and After

Retouching is a critical part of my workflow; it's one of the technical factors separating me from the average portrait photographer. I employ 2 professional retouchers and also do some of my own retouching.

This before/after illustration shows are basic approach: realistic but flattering. We don't make people look like porcelain dolls. We use a complexion smoothing technique that reduces but doesn't remove skin texture and wrinkles. This client was concerned about her neck. We softened the wrinkles so they didn't stand out but left a realistic portion of what she has.
