Pantone® Color of the Year

Pantone® is the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design and graphics industries. Many graphic artists and others involved in visual design use Pantone's Matching System® for creating color palettes and color stories. Annually, Pantone® designates the color of the year based on a variety of factors.

This year, the color is Turquoise. According to Pantone®:
"Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing."

Based on the color palette published by Pantone® I converted their proprietary colors to the photographic spectrum used for images and on the web (RGB) as well as in HTML programming (Hex). The largest sample is Turquoise followed by my preferred complimentary colors, determined with the assistance of a color scheme generator called PerBang:
